AMVESCAP PLC is an independent investment management group that provides an array of domestic, foreign and global investment products. The Company operates in institutional and retail segments of the investment management industry in North America, Europe and Asia and had $332.6 billion of assets under management as of December 31, 2002. Its products include equity, balanced, fixed-income, money market and real estate investment portfolios. Approximately 50% of assets under AMVESCAPs management, as of December 31, 2002, were invested in equities and approximately 50% were invested in fixed-income and other securities. The Company, which had five operating groups at the end of 2002, has organized its operations into four operating groups as of January 1, 2003. These are AIM, INVECO, AMVESCAP Retirement (formerly INVESCO Retirement) and Private Wealth Management.
