Aon Corporation is a holding company whose operating subsidiaries conduct their businesses in three distinct operating segments: insurance brokerage and other services, consulting and insurance underwriting. The insurance brokerage and other services segment consists principally of Aons retail, reinsurance and wholesale brokerage, as well as related insurance services, including claims services, underwriting management, captive insurance company management services and premium financing. The consulting segment provides a full range of human capital management services utilizing five practices: employee benefits, compensation, management consulting, outsourcing and communications. The Companys insurance underwriting segment is comprised of supplemental accident and health and life insurance and extended warranty and casualty insurance products and services.
