Capital Corp. of the West is the bank holding company for County Bank (Bank). The Companys Town and Country Finance and Thrift (Thrift) was merged into County Bank. Capital Corp also has one wholly owned, inactive, non-bank subsidiary, Capital West Group, at December 31, 2002. The Bank has three wholly owned subsidiaries: Merced Area Investment & Development, Inc., County Asset Advisors and County Investment Trust. County Bank conducts a general commercial banking business including the acceptance of demand deposits, such as interest-bearing, savings and time deposits. It also offers commercial, agriculture, real estate, personal, home improvement, home mortgage, automobile, credit card and other installment and term loans. It offers travelers checks, safe deposit boxes, banking-by-mail, drive-up facilities, 24-hour automated teller machines and other customary banking services to its customers.
