Capitol Bancorp Limited is a uniquely structured affiliation of small community banks. The Companys affiliates consist of 29 banks. Each bank, which typically has only one location, is focused on meeting the banking needs of entrepreneurs, professionals and other individuals seeking individually tailored service. Each bank has full local decision-making authority in making loans and delivery of other banking services, and is managed by an on-site president and management team under the direction of its local board of directors. Capitol Bancorp Limiteds affiliate banks and loan production offices are located in the states of Michigan, Arizona, Indiana, Nevada, New Mexico, California, Texas and Georgia. Plans are underway for expansion into additional banking markets in 2003.
