Colonial BancGroup, Inc. (BancGroup) operates as the bank holding company of Colonial Bank (the Bank). The principal activity of the Company is to supervise and coordinate the business of its subsidiaries and to provide them with capital and services. BancGroup derives substantially all of its income from dividends received from the Bank. As of December 31, 2002, Colonial Bank accounted for approximately 99.7% of the Companys consolidated assets. BancGroup has several wholly owned, non-banking subsidiaries that are active. These include Colonial Brokerage, Inc.; The Colonial BancGroup Building Corp.; Colonial Capital II, Colonial Capital III and MBI Capital Trust, and Great Florida Title LLC.
