Penn Treaty American Corporation is a provider of long-term care and home healthcare insurance in the United States. The Companys primary product offerings are: Assisted Living policies, which provide coverage for all levels of facility care and include a home healthcare rider; Personal Freedom policies, which provide coverage for facility and home healthcare, and Independent Living policies, which provide coverage for home and community based care furnished by licensed care providers, as well as unlicensed caregivers, homemakers or companions. The Companys policies are designed to provide meaningful benefits if and when the insured is no longer capable of functioning independently. PTA also owns insurance agencies that sell senior-market insurance products issued by the Company as well as other insurers. The Company is licensed in all states and receives renewal premiums from policyholders, but is restricted from issuing new policies in 16 states.
