Safeguard Health Enterprises, Inc. provides a wide range of dental benefit plans, including health maintenance organization (HMO) plan designs and preferred provider organization (PPO)/indemnity plan designs. The Company also provides vision benefit plans, administrative services and preferred provider network rental. Safeguard conducts its business through several subsidiaries, one of which is an insurance company that is licensed in a number of states and several of which are dental HMO plans that are each licensed in the state in which it operates. Safeguards operations are primarily in California, Florida and Texas, but it also operates in a number of other states.
