Mortgage rates slip in latest week

According to Freddie Mac, key U.S. mortgage rates fell in the week ending Thursday. The national average interest rate on the benchmark 30-year loan fell to 5.98 percent from 6.00 percent a week earlier. The 15-year mortgage, a popular refinancing choice, edged lower to 5.39 percent from 5.40 percent.
