Citigroup plans to sell up to $30 billion in mixed securities

Citigroup (C) plans to sell up to $30 billion in mixed securities via a public offering, according to a registration statement filed Friday with Securities and Exchange Commission, according to CBSMarketWatch. The company plans to offer debt securities and common stock, warrants, stock purchase units and contracts, according to the filing. Citigroup said proceeds from the sale are earmarked for general corporate purposes, including funding for operations and possible acquisitions, among other things. The company’s shares fell 22 cents to $44.38 just before markets closed.
