Corporations can make centralized payments without bank’s services

(by M.Riley)

New Internet-based systems and software now allow corporations to make centralized payments without using bank’s services. That will soon dwindle down banking role in treasury management.

Still, the biggest banks state treasury centralization would appear difficult for multinational organizations having no global banking partner.

Another way out for such corporations that try to minimize working capital and maximize efficiency are payments factories, or centralized processing units, that may be linked to an in-house bank. Due to their configuration payment factories are able to facilitate communication with banks, and provide accurate cash flow reporting.

The growth of treasury centralization depends on cash. Managers are trying to control internal cash flows and harmonize treasury functions with corporate buyers, sellers and the supply chain.
Centralized treasury provides corporations with an overview of their working capital and assists in its reallocation in areas that are short of cash.
