CSFB enters Asia investment

CSFB enters Asia investment

(by Mark Riley)

Credit Suisse First Boston wants to invest more into Asia market stressing upon the private equity, high-yield debt and securitisation markets.

"We believe the highest growth in the world is going to come from this region. We want to be a dominant player in Asia," said Brady Dougan, CSFB’s new chief executive. He also added that Asia is the biggest opportunity for the company in the next 12-18 months.

As regulatory ban comes to its end, CSFB is eager to re-enter India’s securities markets.
Asia is expected to get the lion’s share of the company’s investments while Europe and the U.S. will see cutbacks in investments. "We expect Asia to become a growing part of our revenues and profits in the next few years," added Mr Dougan.
