BoJ says deflation continues Bank of Japan said deflation will continue for an eight year making it keeping rates at the same zero level.

``It is not certain whether or not there will be occasion to change the present framework of the quantitative easing policy’ in fiscal 2005 and 2006», the central bank said.

The bank’s nine policy makers said that core consumer prices will fall 0.1% in the fiscal year ending March 31 and rise 0.3% the following year.

The recession in the world’s second-largest economy started early last year.

Industrial production fell 0.3% in March from February, according to the government data. Spending by households fell 1.1% in the same period, the data showed.
