Using a dedicated EDI solution to support the receipt and subsequent translation of 821 EDI files from the client, one of the U.S. banks became the only one positive pay provider to one of its clients.
The bank’s consolidation of the reverse positive pay process on behalf of its client guaranteed its selection as sole provider over the other three banks that supplied the client with positive pay services. After preparing a checks-issued data file that lists check number, date, amount and payee name, bank sends the file to the client daily after translating the payment data. Check issuer can reconcile this data file, which is condensed from proprietary formats, lockbox and ACH files.
Within the US retail sector, EDI transaction management allows both retailer and supplier prevent missed or late deliveries and improve their overall trade performance.
