Prepaid cards to manage budgets

According to the latest survey, U.S. consumers think prepaid cards can be the better means to manage their monthly budget.

As a financial management tool for cash flow the prepaid card would be used by 26% of respondents, while almost 50% would use debit/check cards for this purpose. As a means of reducing cell phone spending 15% of respondents would turn to prepaid wireless plans. 19.3% of respondents would prefer retailer gift/stored-value cards and 7.7% choose prepaid cash cards.

27.4% of respondents said they would choose a retailer’s POS while recharging prepaid cards. 26.4% of the respondents said they would do that by mail, 25.6% over the phone and 11.2% at a self-serve kiosk.
