53% of all store purchases are now made with the help of payment cards.

Debit cards fees grew around 270% as compared with 1999. Cards as a means of payment more and more used by the Americans led to merchants pay higher electronic transaction fees for card purchases. An average American now may have up to 13 payment cards with him/her while shopping.

Local, state and federal agencies are expected to increase their payment card acceptance, research data shows.
