The latest data from the world payment giant Visa international showed world
eCommerce sales may grow up to $150 billion in 2004, 54% higher against 2003.
Almost 8% of Visa’s transaction total now belongs to online sales, which is more than 5% higher than in 2003. Cross-border transactions comprise about 16% of online payment volume of the company, 15% up from the prior year results.
VbyV (the Verified by Visa authenticated online payments service) is now used by about 15 billion cardholders. About 10,000 Visa member banks and 30,000 merchants have signed up to use VbyV at the moment, Visa’s figures show.
Address-verification systems are used by 73% of retailers surveyed by Merchant Risk Council, with 70% using customer follow-up and 65% card-verification codes.
