Dutch bank ABN Amro said it had an option to issue the first for the Netherlands Chip & PIN credit cards by mid-May to view transaction data online and pay card balance in installments, according to ePaynews.
The bank is expected to start issuing new cards in mid-March and finish it in mid-May. The card will be able to make PIN-secured credit card payments at the POS.
The EMV standard is already used in several other countries of Europe but the Netherlands would implement it for the first time.
By issuing the cards ABN Amro launched a 7-year card-processing period, based on the agreement with TSYS (Total System Services).
