Japanese shares fell today on profit-taking.
The Nikkei 225 fell 44.81 points, 0.38% to 11,601.68. The TOPIX slipped 0.28% and closed at 1,164.94.
Advantest fell 0.87% to 9080 yen, Canon closed unchanged at 5550 yen. NEC rose 1.11% to 638 yen. Daiei fell 1.32% to 225 yen.
Honda slipped 0,36% to 5540, Nissan Motor fell 0.09% to 1129 yen, Toyota added 0.24% to 4170 yen.
Yto-Yokado declined 0.72% to 4110 yen.

In the currency market, the euro slid to $1.3014 from $1.3019 in New York late Tuesday. The dollar rose to 105.16 yen, from $104.43.
