European shares closed mixed on Thursday.
The Dax Index added 0.91 points, or 0.02% to 4369.68, the FTSE 100 Index rose 4.20 points, or 0.08% to 5057.40, the CAC 40 Index declined 3.52 points, or 0.09% to 4005.50.
In U.K.: Shell rose 0.83% to 485.00. Barclays Bank added 0.25% to 608.50. Diageo declined 0.37% to 740.00. HSBC slid 0.55% to 901.00. Vodafone advanced 0.53% to 141.25. Unilever declined 0.25% to 502.75.
In Germany: Bayer rose 1.50% to 26.42. Infineon tumbled 1.32% to 7.45. SAP slid 0.73% to 122.98. Allianz added 0.01% to 94.22. Deutsche Bank slipped 0.28% to 67.40. BMW added 0.18% to 32.71. DaimlerChrysler declined 0.20% to 35.48.
In France: Alcatel fell 1.75% to 9.57. BNP Paribas declined 0.63% to 55.35. Danone slipped 0.07% to 72.55. EADS rose 0.08% to 24.12. Renault rose 0.36% to 68.75. France Telecom slipped tumbled 2.58% to 23.82, after Morgan Stanley cut its rating to "equal-weight" from "overweight.
US STOCK MARKET
U.S. stocks ended lower on Thursday.
The Dow Jones Industrial declined 80.62 points, or 0.74%, and closed at 10,754.26. The S&P 500 fell 9.58 points, or 0.79%, to 1,200.76. The Nasdaq Composite tumbled 26.09 points, or 1.25%, to 2,061.34.
FOREX
In the currency market, the euro rose to $1.3079 from $1.3040 in New York late Wednesday. The dollar rose to 105.56 yen, from $105.31.
