Sino-Indonesian relations to shoot to $20 bln
(by Roy Deng)

Chinese-Indonesian relations are expected to be improved after the agreement signed by the leaders of the two countries on Monday.

Under the terms, bilateral trade will be boosted by more than 40% over the next three years to $20 billion.

The move comes amid the buoyant development of the Chinese economy whereas other Asian countries are trying to pick fruit from the boost.

The meeting between Chinese President Hu Jintao and Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono took place in Jakarta on Monday.

"This demonstrates not only that Sino-Indonesian relations have entered a new development stage, but will also promote the development of Sino-Asean relations," said President Hu.

’’This meeting marks a new phase in Indonesian and Chinese relations," said Mr. Yudhoyono stressing that two countries will do their best to boost trade relations to reach the result of $20 billion over the next three years.
