No hearing on Khodorkovsky case till May 16
(by Dr.Goldfinger)

No hearing on Khodorkovsky case till May 16 Khodorkovsky case hearing was delayed one more time after a Moscow court said the hearing was postponed till May 16 amid the worries that Russia’s President Vladimir Putin may face criticism from the world leaders that are expected to come to Russia for the May 9 anniversary.

The reporters were told that there will not «be a court hearing today», and that Khodorkovsky must wait till May 16.

Some analysts say the move has links with the May 9 meeting between Putin and George Bush that was known for fierce criticism of Putin’s hard policy towards the companies.

Earlier, Putin called Russia’s tax authorities to lift pressure from the Russian corporations saying it will help boost profits and prosperity.

Khodorkovsky, once Russia’s richest man and owner of oil giant YUKOS, faces a maximum of a 10-year jail term with his partner Platon Lebedev. Khodorkovsky was arrested some 17 months ago after the crash of YUKOS.
