AstraZeneca first-quarter profit rose 31%

AstraZeneca first-quarter profit rose 31% AstraZeneca, Europe’s third- largest drugmaker, reported on Thursday that its first-quarter profit rose 31%.

Profit rose to $1.04 billion, or 63 cents a share, from $799 million, or 47 cents a share, in the previous year.

Revenue rose 13% to $5.74 billion from $5.07 billion.

The company expects its full-year earnings per share to be in a range of $2.35 to $2.50.
