Dell fiscal first-quarter income rocketed 28%

Dell fiscal first-quarter income rocketed 28% Dell, the world’s largest personal-computer maker, reported on Thursday that its fiscal first-quarter income rocketed 28%.

Income rose to $934 million, or 37 cents a share, from $731 million, or 28 cents a share, in the previous year.

Revenue rose 16% to $13.39 billion from $11.54 billion.

European sales rose 20%, with Asian and American sales climbing 19% and 14% respectively.

The company forecast a second-quarter profit of 37 cents to 39 cents a share on revenue of $13.6 billion to $13.7 billion. Analysts are expecting income of 38 cents on revenue of $13.64 billion.
