Mutual fund firm Janus Capital said Tuesday it has named two new, independent directors to its board. The company named Michael Bills, the founder of Bluestem Asset Management, and Deborah Gatzek, a former executive at rival firm Franklin Resources to its board. Janus also said current director Helen Young Hates, whose term expires in May, will leave the board. Janus said following the new appointments, seven of its 10 directors will be independent. Janus shares slipped 9 cents in Tuesday morning trade, or 0.5 percent, to $16.83.
