Pension funds want to nominate Disney director (DIS)

A group of state pension funds asked Walt Disney Co.’s (DIS) board members Friday to consider a slate of names for a new independent director at the entertainment giant. Disney is expected to appoint a new director later this year. Disney officials wouldn’t say if the pension funds reiterated their call for Chief Executive Michael Eisner to step down. Eisner was not at the meeting, held in New York. Disney Chairman George Mitchell said Eisner was "very busy," adding the meeting was "civil, frank and thorough."
