A law firm Bryan Cave set an idea of exemption of hedge funds from SEC registration or examination.
In the letter dated August 16 Bryan Cave stated that it is possible for hedge funds to be exempt from regulators if they supply wider information about themselves to the SEC pointing its proposal as a real middle ground between funds and regulators.
The main target of the letter lies deep in attracting attention to the firm from the SEC.
Bryan Cave also proposed to alter Form D to gather information about hedge funds and their advisers, including "the name and address of each adviser, the number of hedge funds managed by each adviser, and each adviser’s total assets under management."
