One of the strongest hurricanes of the year, Ivan, reached the U.S. south-eastern states with at least two people killed. The hurricane has great impact on oil prices.
Ivan has already killed 60 people in on the Caribbean islands of Jamaica and Grenada. With the winds of over 135 mph the Category 4 hurricane hit Gulf of Mexico raising fears on oil supply and lifting oil prices once again in the quarter.
Ivan is the third strong hurricane to hit U.S. over a month-period. It is already called the hurricane with "the size of Frances but the impact of Charley."
Insurers haven’t assessed losses so far, but they are estimated to once again roughly hit U.S. economy.
