Munich Re unit received subpoenas in two US states

(by M. Riley)

Munich Re U.S. unit received two subpoenas in two states with a request to provide insurance regulators with information as the unit may be accused of wrongdoing.

Munich Re denies wrongdoing, but currently reviews its internal practices. "Activities, such as bid-rigging are completely contrary to our corporate principles," a spokesman for Munich Re said.

The unit also added it continued cooperation with the authorities.
