The U.S. seven-largest carrier US Airways Group Inc. said it has set deadline for its machinists, flight attendants and ground workers for the agreement to avoid approved by the court throwing out of the contracts.
The deadline for the agreement reached was set to the mid-November, the company said in the statement. The negotiations on fee-cuts are expected to be started soon.
Judge Stephen Mitchell of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia has approved wage cuts for the union workers dated October 15 accounting for 21%.
US Airways had negotiations with the Association of Flight Attendants, the International Association of Machinists, and the Communications Workers of America but failed to reach a deal.
