Merck 4Q net income fell to $1.1 billion but matched expectations

Merck 4Q net income fell to $1.1 billion but matched expectations Merck & Co. reported on Tuesday its fourth-quarter earnings. Net income fell to $1.1 billion, or 50 cents per share, from $1.4 billion, or 62 cents per share, in the previous year. Analysts were expecting 50 cents a share. Revenue rose to $5.7 billion from $5.6 billion. Analysts were forecasting revenue of $5.32 billion. For the total 2005 the company predicts EPS of $2.42 to $2.52 per share. Analysts are expecting EPS of $2.46 per share.
