Japanese shares closed mixed on Thursday.
The Nikkei 225 rose 6.85 points, 0.06% to 11,745.97. The TOPIX Index declined 0.45% and closed at 1,188.44.
Advantest added 0.62% to 8160 yen, Canon was up 0.18% to 5530 yen. NEC rose 0.31% to 639 yen. Sony dropped 1.60% to 4310 yen.
Daiei tumbled 1.36% to 218 yen.
Honda rose 0.57% to 5300, Nissan Motor fell 0.83% to 1078 yen, Toyota was down 1.50% to 3950 yen.
Yto-Yokado declined 0.24% to 4220 yen.
FOREX
In the currency market, the euro rose to $1.3014 from $1.2971 in New York late Wednesday. The dollar rose to 106.22 yen, from $106.14 yen.
