Japanese shares closed higher on Monday.
The Nikkei 225 rose 31.20 points, 0.27% to 11,792.30.
Advantest rallied 3.46% to 8380 yen, Canon was up 0.36% to 5610 yen. NEC rocketed 2.68% to 652 yen. Sony fell 0.23% to 4390 yen.
Daiei advanced 0.93% to 217 yen.
Honda added 1.11% to 5480, Nissan Motor declined 0.09% to 1098 yen, Toyota closed unchanged at 4030 yen.
Yto-Yokado rocketed 2.10% to 4370 yen.
FOREX
In the currency market, the euro fell to $1.2909 from $1.2960 in New York late Friday. The dollar rose to 107.02 yen, from $106.32 yen.
