Japanese shares closed higher on Thursday.
The Nikkei 225 rose 103.07 points, 0.89% to 11,668.95.
Advantest rose 1.36% to 8220 yen, Canon rallied 1.59% to 5750 yen. NEC declined 0.92% to 643 yen. Sony fell 0.93% to 4240 yen.
Daiei rocketed 2.33% to 220 yen.
Honda fell 0.74% to 5360, Nissan Motor added 0.55% to 1089 yen, Toyota rose 0.50% to 4010 yen.
Yto-Yokado added 1.18% to 4280 yen.
FOREX
In the currency market, the euro slipped to $1.2932 from $1.2950 in New York late Wednesday. The dollar fell to 107.19 yen, from $107.45 yen.
