Japanese shares closed lower today on rising oil prices.
The Nikkei 225 fell 56.09 points, 0.48% to 11,667.54. The TOPIX index declined 0.28% to 1,183.15.
Advantest closed unchanged at 8270 yen, Canon fell 0.52% and closed at 5720 yen. NEC declined 0.62% to
642 yen. Sony was down 0.70% to 4240 yen.
Daiei tumbled 3.65% to 219 yen.
Honda added 0.56% to 5410, Nissan Motor slipped 0.63% to 1097 yen, Toyota closed unchanged at 4020
yen.
Yto-Yokado dropped 2.33% to 4190 yen.
FOREX
In the currency market, the euro fell to $1.2888 from $1.2921 in New York late Friday. The dollar advanced to 107.88 yen, from $107.55 yen.
