Japanese shares closed lower on Thursday.
The Nikkei 225 fell 16.17 points, 0.14% to 11,810.99.
Advantest rose 0.12% and closed at 8380 yen, Canon advanced 0.34% to 5880 yen. NEC rallied 1.98% to 668 yen. Sony was up 1.15% to 4390 yen.
Daiei advanced 0.48% to 211 yen.
Honda rose 0.54% to 5630, Nissan Motor added 0.44% to 1133 yen, Toyota rose 0.48% to 4150 yen.
Yto-Yokado declined 0.71% to 4190 yen.
FOREX
In the currency market, the euro rose to $1.2925 from $1.2882 in New York late Wednesday. The dollar fell to 108.28 yen, from $108.66 yen.
