Japanese shares closed the week higher.
The Nikkei 225 rose 63.76 points, 0.54% to 11,874.75.
Advantest rose 1.07% and closed at 8470 yen, Canon closed unchanged at 5880 yen. NEC added 0.15% to 669 yen. Sony was down 0.23% to 4380 yen.
Daiei advanced 0.47% to 212 yen.
Honda slipped 0.36% to 5610, Nissan Motor added 0.97% to 1144 yen, Toyota declined 0.72% to 4120 yen.
Yto-Yokado rallied 1.43% to 4250 yen.
FOREX
In the currency market, the euro fell to $1.2818 from $1.2852 in New York late Thursday. The dollar rose to 108.70 yen, from $108.60 yen.
