MARKET SNAPSHOT: JAPANESE EQUITIES, FOREX

Japanese shares closed lower on Wednesday.
The Nikkei 225 rose 32.78 points, 0.28% to 11,637.52.
Advantest was up 1.09% and closed at 8320 yen, Canon closed unchanged at 5730 yen. NEC fell 1.55% to 634 yen. Sony slid 1.17% to 4210 yen.
Daiei closed unchanged at 202 yen.
Honda added 0.18% to 5490, Nissan Motor fell 0.81% to 1107 yen, Toyota declined 0.25% to 4020 yen.
Yto-Yokado dropped 0.72% to 4140 yen.
FOREX
In the currency market, the euro advanced to $1.2951 from $1.2875 in New York late Monday. The dollar slipped to 107.25 yen, from $107.80 yen.
