U.K. consumer prices rose 1.9% in March
(by Mark Riley)

U.K. consumer prices rose 1.9% in March from 1.6% in February. This is the fastest annual pace of rising in almost seven years. Traders were expecting the index to rise 1.7%. On a month-on-month basis inflation rose 0.4%.

Inflation pressure is raising expectations that the Bank of England will have to hike interest rates in the nearest future.
