The dollar rose to 105.40 yen, from $104.60 yen in New York late Friday after the U.S. reported that North Korea fired a missile into the Sea of Japan. In the currency market, the euro fell to $1.2850 from $1.2870.

“The yen was pressured today after the missile launch, which fueled worries that the problems between the two countries are only going to get worse,” said Tetsu Aikawa from UFJ Bank Ltd.”That's not good for Japan's currency.”
