June gold futures rose $0.30 to $419.6 an ounce.
US STOCK MARKET
The U.S. stock markets closed higher on Monday.
The Dow Jones Industrial rallied 113.87 points, or 1.12%, to 10,253.99. The Nasdaq Composite rose 17.39 points, or 0.88%, to 1,994.17. The S&P500 rose 11.66 points, or 1.01%, to 1,165.71.
FOREX
In the currency market, the euro rose to $1.2639 from $1.2627 in New York late Friday. The dollar fell to 106.86 yen, from $107.40 yen.
