Philippine Government to reach agreement with riot inmates

An agreement was reached today between the rioting prisoners of the Bagong Diwa Camp and the Philippine Government. That riot resulted in six people killed and two injured.

Deputy Director General Avelino Razon reported that the inmates were led by Alhamser Limbang known as Commander Kosovo, the participant of the Abu Sayyaf group, which is linked to the terrorist group Al Qaida.

Negotiators, led by Interior Secretary Angelo Reyes and Metro Manila police chief Avelino Razon concluded with the agreement according to which the Abu Sayyaf’s inmates will hand over their weapons in exchange for their safety, the right to hire defense lawyers and contract with the press.
