Kharrazi: Iran won’t drop nuclear enrichment program
(by Natali Novak)

Kharrazi: Iran won’t drop nuclear enrichment program Iran has no option to drop its nuclear enrichment program despite strong sanctions from the US, Iranian Foreign Minister said Tuesday.

Kamal Kharrazi, Iranian Foreign Minister, said that lifted sanctions would not stop Iran from developing its nuclear enrichment program. He rejected an offer from the US to help Iran to join the WTO and the proposal to import aircraft parts from the US. ``Lifting sanctions will never encourage us to give up our rights. But they can help us to build confidence and create a positive atmosphere in our relations with the US,’’ he said.

He stressed that the Iranian rights “cannot be compensated with economic incentives.”

The sanctions are expected to slow Iran’s economic progress, analysts say.
