Sinn Fein leader is a persona non-grata in US, McCartney says

Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams is not welcomed in Washington any more, the US officials say. Senator Edward Kennedy cancelled his meeting with Adams amid Adams trip to North America.

The US demands Sinn Fein to stop supporting terrorist activity. Sinn Fein was involved along with IRA to the bank robbery and killing of a Catholic man in Belfast.

Robert McCartney was killed in Belfast by a gang that included two IRA activists. His sisters blamed IRA of being irresponsible over its membership and asked the US to help in investigating the case.

The US President George W. Bush will meet with Gemma, Paula, Donna, Catherine and Claire McCartney in the White House on Thursday.
