Rumsfeld: Iraqi economy back to recovery
(by Dr.Goldfinger)

Rumsfeld: Iraqi economy back to recovery The US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said that the Iraqi economy cannot be derailed by the insurgents and that the US helped to free about 25 million of Iraqi people.

"We have 25 million Iraqis that are free. The economy is coming back. The dinar is strong. The schools are open. The hospitals are open," said Rumsfeld on Sundayon ABC’s "This Week" and on "Fox News Sunday."
The number of the US security forces will be lifted to 200,000 from the current 145,000, he added. "And they’ll take on more and more responsibility," Mr. Rumsfeld said.

Mr. Rumsfeld was quite optimistic about the deployment of the US forces in Iraq.

Earlier, the US President George W. Bush said that the Iraqi people have now nothing to fear. "Now, because we acted, Iraq’s government is no longer a threat to the world or its own people," he noted.
