Kyrgyz old parliament ousted Tuesday

The upper house of the old Kyrgyz parliament was ousted Tuesday after enduring intesnsive pressure from the opposititional parliament which is from now announced to consist of only one house.

The country’s acting president is Kurmanbek Bakiyev who headed the state afte the last week’s ouster of long-lasting ruler Askar Akayev.

«The decision you’ve taken is absolutely right,» said Mr. Bakiyev.

New parliament is now the only governmental body that may act on behalf of the highest legislative body of the country.

The lower house of Kyrgyz parliament disbanded on Monday.
