Pope sees no need in feeding tube

Pope sees no need in feeding tube

The Pope appeared in his window for the first time since Easter Sunday to bless the pilgrims that gathered to cheer up the ailing John Paul.

On Wednesday, the Pope appeared in the window of his studio and raised his hand for blessing. He failed to speak so the greetings and prayers were read by a Vatican official.

Thousands of faithful that gathered to support the pontiff had tears in their eyes when the Pope tried but failed to say a couple of words.

Some Italian newspapers reported the Pope may have need to return to hospital to improve his condition through the application of a feeding tube. But the Vatican officials denied the need for John Paul to go back to Gemelli hospital where he underwent throat surgery last month.

The disease did not give him a chance to conduct Easter service for the first time in his long-lasting papacy. On Easter Sunday, he also appeared in the window after the service but failed to bless the crowd that gathered beneath his windows.
