Marburg virus in Angola has taken away 15 more lives, officials reported today. About 174 people died of the Ebola-like virus.
The virus has already seized six regions with unusually high number of killed and more then 200 people infected, The World Health Organization says.
"Everybody should be on alert," said Anarfi Asamoa-Baah, WHO’s assistant director general of communicable diseases.
"Not only other provinces in Angola but all its neighbouring countries, the Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia and Zambia."
Canadian, German, South African and American scientists are cooperating in order to analyze and interpret samples taken from infected people.
