The Roman Catholic Church cardinals continue their hard job of choosing new head of Roman Catholic Church by casting ballots from inside the Sistine Chapel.
The 115 cardinals are now staying in the Santa Marta residence inside Vatican City. They returned to the Sistine Chapel after a 7:30 a.m., local media said. The morning session includes two votes, Vatican officials say.
Thousands of pilgrims gathered in St. Peter’s Square to hear the results of the voting for the 265th pope. Their eyes are all focused on the chimney above the Sistine Chapel from where white smoke will indicate that a candidate has successfully attracted support from two-thirds of the cardinals.
Morning session black smoke will indicate that no pope was chosen during the morning session voting.
