The US officials came to Oklahoma City to commemorate the tenth anniversary of a huge blast in Oklahoma federal building that took lives of 168 people, including 19 children.
Thousand of people gathered to commemorate those who died after a rented truck packed with explosives smashed into Murrah building in Oklahoma City.
Vice President Dick Cheney and former President Bill Clinton also visited the ceremony. "The United States has known times of sadness both before and after the Murrah building was attacked. Yet that spring morning 10 years ago is still deeply etched in our memories," said Mr. Cheney.
He also praised quick moves of volunteers that rushed to hospitals on April 19, 1995, to give their blood to the victims."We want to remember April 19, 1995," he said, "not merely because great evil appeared that day, but because goodness overcame evil that day."
"It seems just like yesterday. The memories are still so clear," said Bill Clinton who was in the office at the time.
