Hoshyar Zebari was named foreign minister of Iraq on Thursday, Ali Abd al-Amir Allawi will be finance minister. The rest of the list of the new cabinet is still in progress.
The National Assembly of Iraq mostly approved the partial cabinet list of Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari. Still, the names of the oil, defense, human rights and electricity ministers are not decided amid the disagreement between Shiites, Kurds and Sunnis.
``It is time to carry out our duties and our missions and we should support each other to reach our final goals,’’ Al-Jaafari said.
The National Assembly approved ministers with 180 members voting in favor out of 185 present in the 275-seat Assembly.
The final cabinet will have 36 seats, including deputy posts. ``We have based this list on the best possible people to serve the Iraqi people,’’ al-Jaafari said.
